Jacqueline Osty

The new quarter Clichy-Batignolles is situated on a former railway plateform of 40ha, 10 dedicated to the park. This central place federates new urban forms. As the park structures the neighborhood, its permeability to circulation is one of its main caracteristics. The park with planted promenades links the areas nearby.
Different artifice are used to amplify the effects of nature. The seasons’ cycle guided the choice of plants so that one season is highlighted in each space.Water is shown in many forms : technical, environmental and playful. When running artificialy, water’s esthetic qualities are combined with ecological properties : the planted ditches collect the rainwater for watering, the water welling up for games’ pleasure is recycled.
As for uses, with its open spaces and intimate places, its active bands dedicated to children’s games and sports, the park offers a multitude of practices.
In this, it is in line with contemporary expectations as can attest its high attendance.
