Linee guida per il progetto dello spazio pubblico di Mantova e Sabbioneta - 9a Biennal 2016

These Guidelines are the management tool promoted by the Mantua and Sabbioneta UNESCO site to ensure the active protection of their public urban space .
Drawn up in the light of the knowledge and evaluation framework of the features of the two cities’ public urban spaces, their integrity and any related need for intervention, they defined the project framework and action plan, identified areas of intervention and objectives to be pursued (Quality Objectives and Master Plan).
These areas of intervention have been articulated in Structural Components of public urban spaces and in Urban Sectors, city areas that pertain to them and require a unitary public urban space project.
.Sheets were developed for all of the Urban Sectors with a description of the Structural Component involved including their historical, morphological, environmental and functional characteristic, as well as the current critical issues and the specific objectives to be pursued. Pilot Projects were arranged to guide intervention projects by exemplifying proposed solutions in relation to the set objectives and. that should be considered as a model for the whole related Urban Sector.( see, the selected Pilot Projects along the «Percorso del Principe», in the case of Mantua, and the Pilot Project of Piazza d’Armi, in the case of Sabbioneta).
