The district of Duisburg Bruckhausen includes an aging building stock influenced by environmental pressures associated with, high vacancy rates, a deficit situation of green and open space as lack of infrastructure caused by urban ills and significant functional losses. Within one of the largest urban redevelopment measures, Bruckhausen, should be healed by a green area of 8.4 hectare. The new park is an interplay between urban and scenic atmospheres. The basic design elements of the park are: the landscape structure as an accessible earth-sculpture and noise protector and central lawn and meadow areas. The clear framework of hedgerows and smal woodlands, the earth-sculpture as well as the openness of the park, allows a sense of density and range in open space. As idealized natural environment, the park follows in his basic concept the designs of public parks with central lawns for playing, grilling etc. The consummated urban redevelopment lead to an equalization of industrial seam position by a park decorated with a landscape-structure and solve the authoritative elimination of established urban and socio-cultural grievances. The further stabilization involves the further development of existing integrated neighborhood renewal strategies. We hope that the new layout will be capable of simultaneously generating 'evolutionary spaces' and 'reactive mechanism' `- not as aesthetic images, but as expressions and materializations of other possible courses of action.
