The COAC exhibits the selected projects for the new Camp Nou and Palau Blaugrana
The aim of the exhibition, organized jointly with FC Barcelona, is to reveal the projects of all the finalists. Therefore the exhibition is set up over three spaces:
At the arquitectes.cat space in Plaça Nova you can see the work of the winning teams, Pascual-Ausió Arquitectes + Nikken Sekkei and TAC Arquitectes + HOK, with their respective models. The other finalists' projects will have their own space in the Mezzanine with their models and images on display. For those seeking more in-depth knowledge of the work of these teams, the Picasso Room will display more details of the approach to the projects with plans, documents, images, etc.
The exhibition opens on Tuesday, 10 May, at 7 pm in the presence of the Dean of the COAC, Lluís Comerón; the President of Barcelona FC, Josep Maria Bartomeu; and the architectural teams of the finalists.
Running parallel to the exhibition, a series of seminars are scheduled for the Auditorium of the COAC at which the teams of finalists will explain the projects presented in more detail.

The COAC supports the campaign to remodel Via Laietana
The Architects’ Association of Catalonia, through its Barcelona branch, has joined local traders and residents in calling for a remodelling of Via Laietana to make it a civic hub for Ciutat Vella.
Under the slogan Per un nou eix cívic, humanitzem la Via Laietana [Let’s humanise Via Laietana as a new civic hub], the campaign already enjoys the support of 115 collectives, associations and professionals calling for Barcelona City Council to get rid of one of the traffic lanes and restructure the avenue to recover space for pedestrians, increase the width of the pavements and improve the general situation.
Via Laietana was built at the start of the 20th century with the aim of linking the city centre with the port, a vital area for Barcelona’s economic activity, but instead it evolved into something completely the opposite: a physical barrier that divides Ciutat Vella in two. Thus, over the years, the increase in traffic levels has generated high levels of carbon dioxide emissions and the pavements discourage human interaction, undermining the district's potential and provoking the progressive abandonment of its magnificent buildings.
The remodelling has been put off for more than a decade, but now that renovation work has been carried out on other thoroughfares such as the Diagonal, Passeig de Gràcia, Balmes and the General Mitre ring road, it is felt that the recovery of Via Laietana as one of Barcelona's great axes and a benchmark for harmony, progress and citizenship can no longer be postponed.
Visita a les restes ibèriques de Calaceit, Vinebre i Tivissa
Organitzada per Jordi Segura i Núria Corbella, codirectors del XXXIXè Curset; Josep Esteve, arquitecte membre de l’equip organitzador del Curset; i Dídac Gordillo, membre de l’AADIPA de la Demarcació de l’Ebre, aquesta serà la segona de les set jornades previstes en relació amb el Curset d’enguany.
La visita està oberta a tots els membres de l’AADIPA i als arquitectes col·legiats.
El punt de trobada serà el poblat ibèric de Sant Antoni de Calaceit, a les 10.15 h. Durant l'itinerari es visitaran les ruïnes del poblat ibèric de Sant Antoni de Calaceit, el conjunt arqueològic de Coll del Moro, a Gandesa, i els poblats ibers de Sant Miquel de Vinebre i de Castellet de Banyoles, a Tivissa.
El cost de la visita és de 25€ per als membres de l’AADIPA i de la Demarcació de l’Ebre i de 30€ per a la resta d’assistents. El dinar serà al restaurant Sibarites i la jornada es preveu que finalitzi sobre les 19.00 h.

Finalistas del Premio Europeo del Espacio Público Urbano 2016
El Premio és un certamen bienal convocado por siete instituciones europeas con el objetivo de reconocer y difundir obras de creación, recuperación o mejora de los espacios públicos. Este año, la convocatoria ha recibido 276 propuestas, provenientes de 33 países.
Entre las 25 obras finalistas encontramos 3 proyectos de equipos de arquitectos catalanes:
·Nuevo elevador de acceso al centro histórico de Gironella, de Carles Enrich.
·Plaça de Sant Miquel de Olot, de unparelld'arquitectes (Eduard Callís y Guillem Moliner).
·Recuperación del riego de las huertas termales, en Caldes de Montbui, de Cíclica (Marta Serra y Elena Albareda) y CAVAArquitectes (Jordi Calbetó).
El Jurado está presidido por el arquitecto Enric Batlle, en representación del CCCB, y lo integran Matevž Čelik, Hans Ibelings, Juulia Kauste, Ewa P. Porebska, Francis Rambert, Peter Schmal, Dietmar Steiner y Ellis Woodman.
El veredicto final se hará público en la ceremonia de entrega que tendrá lugar en el CCCB el 4 de julio. Las 25 obras finalistas formarán parte de la exposición itinerante que, durante los próximos dos años, recorrerá diversas ciudades de Europa.
