El COAC y GROHE firman un convenio para la organización y difusión de actividades de interés para colegiados

El Colegio de Arquitectos ha firmado un convenio con la empresa GROHE ESPAÑA para la organización de acciones formativas y de difusión de sus productos en los próximos meses. El convenio lo han firmado el 1 de junio la directora general del COAC, Mercè Franquesa, y el director general de GROHE ESPAÑA, Jorge Arteaga Duran.
Acciones formativas y de difusión de productos GROHE
En el marco de este convenio, GROHE participará —el último trimestre del 2016— en el Campus BIM organizado por el COAC, donde explicará su apuesta por esta tecnología que está cambiando la manera de trabajar en el sector de la construcción. Además, dado el importante crecimiento anual de nuevos colegiados, GROHE quiere dar apoyo a los nuevos profesionales, sumándose así a la iniciativa del COAC de ofrecer información de interés al nuevo colegiado con la finalidad de acercar la institución y sus servicios al arquitecto.

La revista "Arquitectura i Urbanisme", digitalizada

La Biblioteca del COAC ha digitalizado la revista Arquitectura i Urbanisme, dirigida por Ramon Puig Gairalt y publicada por la Associació d’Arquitectes de Catalunya entre los años 1931-1935 y por el Sindicat d’Arquitectes de Catalunya entre los años 1936-1937.
La revista ilustra las diversas corrientes de la arquitectura catalana del momento, desde las obras más académicas a los edificios modernos o la arquitectura de vanguardia. También teoriza sobre el nuevo rol del arquitecto y de las entidades que lo representan y pone de manifiesto la importancia que se quería otorgar a la arquitectura escolar y hospitalaria en Cataluña.
La digitalización realizada permite la consulta por palabra, hecho que ofrece muchas posibilidades para la búsqueda dentro de los contenidos de la revista.

Presentation of the international tender for public housing in Les Glories

As part of the 2016 Architecture Congress, on Tuesday 7 June there was a presentation in COAC's auditorium of the tender for projects to construct public housing in Plaça de les Glòries Catalanes, convened by Barcelona's City Council.
The event was attended by the Dean of the COAC, Lluís Comerón; Barcelona City Council's Councillor for Housing, Josep M. Montaner; the head of Urban Planning, Aurora López; the head of the Barcelona Municipal Housing Board, Àngels Mira; and representatives of residents' associations.
The purpose of this international architectural tender is to choose the design of a series of public housing for rent to be constructed in the Glòries area, specifically in the block formed by the streets of Castillejos and Casp, Plaça de les Glòries itself and Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes. The tender will lead to the commissioning of a development proposal defined by the Special Plan for Urban Improvement (PEMU) for the area, whereby approximately 300 homes will be built.
The tender is open to professionals and practices from any European Union country, with a deadline for submitting projects of 40 days from the publication of the tender's terms and conditions. The criteria for awarding the project include aspects such as architectural quality, integration with the surroundings, functionality and energy efficiency.
This tender contributes to the provision of facilities for Plaça de les Glòries, thereby fulfilling the undertakings made in the Commitment to Glòries signed in 2007 by residents and political parties, paving the way to convert this old traffic hub into a new urban park that will become a new economic, social and cultural centre for the city of Barcelona and its metropolitan area.
The bidding rules will shortly be available for consultation.

Finalists for the European Prize for Urban Public Space 2016
The jury of the ninth edition of the European Prize for Urban Public Space 2016has selected the 25 finalists, which represent the best public space interventions in European cities in 2014 and 2015.
The European Prize for Urban Public Space is a biennial contest organised by seven European institutions with the aim of recognising and giving exposure to projects that create, recover or improve public spaces. This year, 276 entries have been received from 33 different countries.
Amongst the 25 finalists are three projects by Catalan architects or teams: ·New elevator to the historical centre of Gironella, by Carles Enrich. ·Decoration for Plaça de Sant Miquel in Olot, by unparelld'arquitectes (Eduard Callís and Guillem Moliner). ·Recovery of the irrigation system of the thermal gardens of Caldes de Montbui, by Cíclica (Marta Serra and Elena Albareda) and CAVAArquitectes (Jordi Calbetó).
The final verdict will be made public at the ceremony to be held at the CCCB on 4 July. The 25 finalist projects will form part of a touring exhibition which will visit a number of European cities over the next two years.
