Presentation and resolution of doubts about the competition for the commission of the Congress of the UIA BCN 2026
The COAC will hold a meeting on Tuesday 11 July at 5.45 pm to give a detailed explanation of the competition to select the team of curators for the World Congress of Architects of the International Union of Architects (UIA) Barcelona 2026 and answer any possible questions about the process and the rules.
The event will be led by the dean of the COAC, Guillem Costa Calsamiglia and the coordinator of the organising committee for World Congress of Architects Barcelona UIA 2026, Roger Subirà. They will be accompanied by the chair of the CSCAE, Marta Vall-llossera, and Gemma Ferré, Greta Tresserra and Pep Quílez, the secretary and voting members of the Governing Board, respectively, who will explain the experience in Copenhagen. Finally, Albert Porta, the managing director of Pràctica, will also take part.
The event is mainly aimed at architects, but also at professionals from other disciplines who are interested in participating. One of the objectives of the Congress is to show architecture as a crosscutting tool for improving life in society, opening the door to creating multidisciplinary teams. Though always led by an architecture professional, these teams will also incorporate profiles from other spheres.
The meeting will end with a concert by Albert Bello & Oriol Saña Quartet, integrated by guitarist and soloist Albert Bello, with Oriol Saña on the violin, Quim Martínez on the rhythm guitar and Joan Motera on the double bass. The concert will take place on the eighth floor and begin at 7 pm.

For the first stage, with a deadline of 7 September, the submissions must determine the theme, motto and objectives of the Congress and its thematic and content development. Five finalist submissions will be selected in this first round and they will have to make a final submission before 15 November. The members of the team will be studied, as well as their professional profiles and career paths. The winning team will be announced during December 2023.
The competition awards 150,000 euros in fees for the winning team. A financial compensation package of 6,000 euros is also planned for the teams that make it to the second round but are not selected as the winner.
A jury of renowned prestige

Submissions open for the UIA World Architecture Congress international curation contest
The Congress is designed as an opportunity to rethink and update the formats and themes that architecture congresses should adopt. This is why the candidates for the team of curators will undergo an unprecedented international selection process at the UIA with a two-round competition.

Ajuda'ns a millorar el servei d'IIT del COAC!
És per això que, si has tramitat algun IIT –sigui amb el COAC o amb alguna altra entitat–, volem conèixer la teva experiència. Et demanem que dediquis uns minuts a respondre unes preguntes sobre la gestió del tràmit, els terminis de revisió i l'aplicació informàtica, entre d'altres. Les dades recollides ens permetran avaluar el servei que es dona des del Col·legi i poder detectar d'aquesta manera àrees de millora.
L'Informe d'Idoneïtat Tècnica, implantat a la ciutat de Barcelona fa més de 10 anys, és un tràmit previ a la sol·licitud del permís d'obres (comunicat o llicència), i té per objecte verificar que el projecte i la documentació tècnica compleixen els requisits d'integritat documental, suficiència i idoneïtat, i acreditar el compliment de la normativa de seguretat, accessibilitat, habitabilitat i ecoeficiència.
Els arquitectes del Servei de Visat del COAC són professionals experts que acumulen una experiència de més de 50.000 expedients informats favorablement. A la garantia de qualitat de la revisió, s’afegeix una atenció personalitzada que facilita a l’arquitecte la resolució de dubtes. A més, amb l'objectiu de donar suport a la professió, el COAC aplica els preus mínims del barem establert per l'Ajuntament de Barcelona.
Novedades en el servicio y las condiciones de contratación del IIT-BCN en el COAC
Con el objetivo de mejorar y ampliar las prestaciones que ofrece el servicio de tramitación del Informe de Idoneidad Técnica (IIT), la Junta de Gobierno del COAC ha aprobado un conjunto de acciones.
En primer lugar, se presentan las nuevas condiciones de contratación del servicio de IIT-BCN del COAC, donde se establece un procedimiento para aquellos expedientes que se tramitan y que son objeto de anulación o desistimiento, entre otros.
Así, los expedientes que queden paralizados durante un período superior a seis meses, por causas imputables al técnico autor del trabajo o al cliente, incurrirán en caducidad del procedimiento y meritarán los gastos de gestión aprobados por la Junta de Gobierno. Pasado este plazo, se procederá a dejar sin efecto legal el documento o al cierre y archivo del expediente, según el caso, sin perjuicio de que, si posteriormente se iniciara uno nuevo, la información en el expediente caducado se pueda volver a utilizar.
Los clientes y los técnicos autores de un trabajo admitido a trámite de emisión del IIT podrán desistir de su solicitud antes del otorgamiento, denegación o caducidad de este. El desistimiento se ha de hacer por escrito y debe ser solicitado conjuntamente por el cliente y por el técnico, o bien por este último si declara bajo su responsabilidad que la relación contractual con el cliente se ha resuelto. El desistimiento dará lugar al deber de la parte o partes que lo presenten de compensar al COAC de los costes de gestión aprobados por la Junta de Gobierno.
Por tanto, se meritará una tasa sobre los trabajos presentados a IIT respecto de los que se haya producido un desistimiento por parte del interesado durante el proceso de tramitación o se haya producido la caducidad del expediente, dado que el COAC ha realizado la tarea de revisión administrativa y técnica del IIT.

En segundo lugar, con el objetivo de mejorar y ampliar las prestaciones que se ofrecen, se ha creado un servicio complementario al Informe de Idoneidad Técnica (IIT) del COAC, consistente en la preparación de la documentación de los PDF a tramitar en los expedientes IIT-BCN. La preparación del formato PDF no incluye la revisión formal ni la revisión técnica de los documentos ni, en ningún caso, la elaboración de documentación escrita, gráfica, de carácter técnico o administrativo del expediente.
