L'Escola Sert i Arquia Banca signen un conveni per promoure la formació dels arquitectes
Gràcies al conveni, els arquitectes que vulguin perfeccionar el seu aprenentatge a través de l’oferta formativa de l’Escola Sert podran sol·licitar a Arquia Banca un finançament amb unes condicions especials i adaptades a les necessitats del col·lectiu.
La col·laboració entre aquestes dues entitats vinculades al col·lectiu d’arquitectes ha de permetre, doncs, l’accés a la formació en arquitectura i fomentar, d’aquesta manera, la millora constant dels coneixements i especialització professionals en un sector que requereix d’aprenentatge i desenvolupament ininterromput.

El mes de febrer, l'Agenda d'Arquitectura s'omple d'activitats. No t'ho perdis!
Aquest segon #Nothoperdis de l’any segueix combinant actes presencials i online, que es podran seguir des de casa per mantenir l’activitat cultural en aquests temps de semiconfinament. Comencem:
Anem a Banyoles, on la Demarcació de Girona del COAC col·labora en l’organització del cicle de l’Ateneu “Cinc cèntims de creació”, que aquest any està dedicat a l’arquitectura. Quatre arquitectes banyolins seran recordats des de la triple vessant de la seva vida personal, la seva obra i la seva vocació de servei públic. El cicle ha arrencat el dia 2 recordant Francesc Figueras, i el dia 9 homenatjarà Jordi Masgrau: arquitectura de proximitat.
No lluny de Banyoles, a Figueres, es pot seguir veient l’exposició que Joan Falgueras ha muntat sobre la reconstrucció de l’església de Sant Pere. La mostra, molt ben documentada, es podrà veure tot el mes de febrer a la sala d’exposicions de la Delegació del COAC.
Anant a Barcelona, la Virreina Centre de la Imatge exposa les fotografies de Manolo Laguillo, un dels fotògrafs de referència que ha documentat algunes de les millors arquitectures del país, faceta que combina amb un gran ull per la fotografia urbana. L’exposició es podrà visitar fins al 14 de febrer.
El Museu d'Arqueologia de Catalunya fa una d’aquestes exposicions d’especial interès: “Art Primer. Artistes de la prehistòria”, nominada als Global Fine Art Awards. L’exposició, de més de 800m2, colonitza el museu de mostres d’art primitiu indestriable del seu substrat i, per tant, susceptible de moltes reflexions creuades sobre arquitectura.
Finalment, pel cap de setmana de Santa Eulàlia (12 i 13 de febrer) diverses entitats barcelonines fan jornades de portes obertes: MACBA, MNAC, la Fundació Mies van der Rohe, el Born Centre Cultural, la Fundació Miró… És una bona oportunitat per conèixer aquests espais de primera mà.
Pel que fa als actes online, el dijous 4 es presenta el darrer número de Quaderns. Dirigit per Núria Casais i Ferran Grau, aquest número és un monogràfic sobre la pell, sobre la cosmètica. Sobre allò que representa la darrera capa visible d’un edifici o d’un espai.
El 18 de febrer a les 10 del matí la Demarcació de Girona i JUNG proposen una sessió online sobre la història dels colors i la seva relació amb l’arquitectura. La sessió és gratuïta prèvia inscripció.
Per últim, avisar-vos de dos cicles de conferències molt interessants: l’IAAC engega les Spring Lectures el dia 9 amb una xerrada de Wendy Teo sobre el comissariat d’arquitectura. El mateix febrer tindrem a Anupama Kundoo, i el mes de març hi haurà quatre conferències més que anirem penjant oportunament a l’Agenda. Estigueu atents a les dates.
Al dia següent, 10 de febrer, tindrà lloc la propera sessió del cicle Foros de la UIC Barcelona School of Architecture, amb una conferència de l’economista Santiago Niño-Becerra. El dia 24 parlarà Hans Ibelings. El tema d’aquest cicle són les profundes transformacions socials que es derivaran de la Covid i del moment en què vivim. S’aniran penjant les següents sessions.

The COAC joins forces with the MNAC and 'Construint a la Sala' to bring architecture closer to schoolchildren
The COVID-19 pandemic has made it necessary to turn Architecture Week into an online event. Aprendre des de casa (Learning from home), the online version of our traditional architecture workshops, made it possible for many children to learn about architecture from their homes through activities organised by architects.
With the aim of getting architecture into schools, the Barcelona branch of the COAC has this year joined the Construint a la sala (Building in the room) project of the National Art Museum of Catalonia, which, now entitled Construint a les escoles (Building in schools), is committed to taking its traditional workshop, which used to be held at the MNAC, into schools.

More than 800 children from 14 schools in the 10 districts of Barcelona between the second and fifth years of primary school built the house of their dreams in line with the slogan "Live, work, play". The activity was aimed at giving children a creative voice to explain their experiences during lockdown, and was supported by more than 40 teachers and 40 architects, as well as other professionals from the sector.
The workshops were held during the first fortnight of December 2020 and later on there will be an exhibition of the models selected during the workshops at the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) and the Architects' Association of Catalonia (COAC).
Harquitectes receives a special mention at the Architecture & Urban Planning Awards of the CSCAE for the Clos Pachem winery
The Clos Pachem winery in Gratallops (Tarragona), the work of the architectural design studio Harquitectes, was given a special mention by the jury of the Architecture & Urban Planning Awards presented every year by the Higher Council of Architects' Associations in Spain (CSCAE).
The jury decided on this recognition in view of "the way the architects have accomplished a highly complex project embedded in a historic town centre". According to the experts, "they have managed to meticulously construct a wealth of different spaces in an excellent contextualisation of, and transition between, the interior and exterior space". In addition, they highlighted the attention given by the project to passive climate comfort for both people and the wines produced in the facility.
A sustainable urban winery
The Clos Pachem winery was created fairly recently by Swiss native Michel Grupper. Set in the town of Gratallops, the building was constructed with natural, simple and durable materials commensurate with the eco-friendly production of the estate. A large warehouse for wine fermentation is the central space of the project, with thick walls and numerous air chambers providing a totally natural cooling effect for the entire building, as well as complete hydrothermal stability.
Architecture & Urban Planning Awards 2020
The winners of the CSCAE 2020 Architecture & Urban Planning Awards were the Albeida Tourist Complex in A Coruña and the Land Planning Directives of the Basque Country. Both projects combine architectural values with sustainability and the optimisation of resources, and aspire to reach a harmonious balance between natural and urban habitats in line with the goals of the UN 2030 Agenda.
