    You can now consult all the issues of the Quaderns journal from 1944 to 2010 with a new feature that makes it quicker and easier to view each issue in the 'Publications' section.The digitization of 66 years of the history of Quaderns has become a milestone in the dissemination of architecture, borne out by the fact that between 2009 and November 2013 some 235,000 views from all over the world were recorded.

    In the context of the preparation of the LCSP (Law on Professional Associations and Services), the Architects' Association of Catalonia has been working in order to support architecture and reveal the social role of architects. To this end, the COAC has made two videos, for which we are asking your help to disseminate.

  • COAC's new website

    The website of the Architects’ Association has been given a total makeover. Obviously, architects and architecture are the protagonists. The new website aims to provide an essential tool to help reposition the role of architects within our society, while at the same time promoting the social and cultural values of architecture.

  • Catalan Book Week at the COAC

    Today, Friday 5 September, marks the opening of the thirty-first edition of Catalan Book Week on the avenue in front of the Cathedral of Barcelona. Up until Sunday 15 September, a total of 75 exhibitors will be gathering to form part of a programme that includes almost 250 activities, some of which are taking place in Plaça Nova and at the COAC headquarters, where the mezzanine level has been set up as the ‘Agora Venue’.

  • 'Espai Transmissor del Tumul de Sero' exhibited in...

    This project by Toni Gironés for the megalithic complex in Artesa de Segre, which a few days ago was distinguished with the FAD Award, is the backbone of this exhibition on the work of the Catalan architect and can be visited until 18 August at the SAM (Swiss Architecture Museum) in Basel. Entitled 'Space+Matter: Life+Place', the exhibition features a total of 15 projects completed in the last few years and demonstrates the architectural firm’s determination to use only the

  • SAY YES TO ARCHITECTURE!

    Approval of the draft Law on Professional Associations and Services (LSCP)On 2 August, the Council of Ministers approved the draft LCSP, which still envisages a review of architects’ qualifications, setting up a working group to make ‘proposals relating to professional qualifications in the sphere of engineering and construction’.

  • The "Rowers" exhibition in Toulouse

    Between 20 June and 14 September this year, the Southern Centre for Architecture and the City (CMAV) in Toulouse hosted the exhibition 'Rowers, Young Architecture in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands', featuring the project which Catalonia and the Balearic Islands exhibited at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2012.

  • Tender for the participation of Catalonia in the Venice...

    The Ramon Llull Institute (IRL), in collaboration with the COAC, has convened a public tender to choose the curator responsible for drawing up Catalonia’s proposal for taking part in the 14th Venice Architecture Biennale between 7 June and 23 November 2014. The first phase—the presentation of projects—ends on 13 June.
