Registration is now open for the 5th edition of "Decarbonising Architecture"!
On November 5th and 6th , the “Decarbonising Architecture” conference returns!
After four editions dedicated to placing the decarbonisation of architecture at the heart of the professional debate, the fifth edition aims to take a step further, moving from political frameworks and awareness towards real implementation.
Under the title “The Future of Housing in Europe: From Policy to Implementation”, the conference aims to highlight the opportunity that decarbonizing the housing stock represents to rethink the housing model.
The conference will take place at COAC on November 5th and will bring together architects, public administration representatives, policymakers and other stakeholders to discuss the instruments, financing mechanisms and regulatory frameworks needed to make this paradigm shift a reality.
The following day, November 6th, the programme will be complemented by guided tours of different examples of good practice. Following the great success of last year’s tours, the activity will offer the opportunity to discover first-hand sustainable new-build and renovation projects.
Register for the conference before 13th October and enjoy a 20% discount!
In addition, the Early Bird ticket includes free access to the Smart City Expo World Congress.

Conference | Trans-Scalar by Mariona Benedito
Within the cultural programming of the Tarragona Demarcation of the College of Architects of Catalonia (COAC) we have the opportunity to listen to the conference TRANS-SCALE, by Mariona Benedito, where the architect talks to us about her most relevant projects.
Architecture unfolds across scales, times and contexts. From ephemeral projects to complex and permanent urban interventions, it is proposed to understand architectural practice as a continuous field where experimentation and responsibility, flexibility and permanence, meet and dialogue. Based on examples of professional practice, research and teaching, the session invites reflection on a trans-scalar attitude that assumes complexity as a design driver.
Mariona Benedito practices architecture in a TRANS-SCALE way, approaching everything from ephemeral or small-scale projects to strategic urban-scale studies, connecting theoretical and research frameworks, professional practice and teaching methodologies.
She is currently co-curator of the next edition of the UIA World Congress to be held in Barcelona in 2026. An architect who graduated from ETSAB-UPC in 2000, with a Diploma in Advanced Studies in Housing from the 40s-60s in Barcelona.
