    On 20 April, at a public event held at the Architects’ Association, the most outstanding works selected in the 2nd Mostra d’Arquitectura Internacional Catalana (International Catalan Architecture Exhibition) were revealed. The exhibition’s purpose is to record, highlight and divulge the work of Catalan architects outside Spain in the last few years.

  • Professional associations collaborate with BCN Ciutat Refugi (...

    On Tuesday, 28 March, the League of Professional Associations of Catalonia—of which the Architects’ Association is a member, along with 100 other professional associations—and Barcelona City Council signed an agreement to bring refugees and immigrants living in Barcelona into contact with the professional associations in their areas of professional activity, with the aim of improving those groups’ personal and professional integration in the city.

  • We have reached 10,000 members!

    As of this March, the Architects’ Association represents 10,000 architect members, a number that was only reached for short periods in 2008 and 2011 when the momentum of the economic growth of the early 2000s was still carrying over.

  • New call for COAC grants for local and international...

    In its desire to further the visibility of architects' social function, the Architect’s Association of Catalonia is, for the sixth year running, opening the call for grants for local and international development cooperation projects related to architecture and urban planning. The awarding of these grants is in keeping with the Association’s commitment to allocating part of its budget to social pursuits.

  • The COAC accompanies the Catalan delegation to MIPIM

    The dean of the Architects’ Association of Catalonia, Lluís Comerón, joined the Catalan delegation at MIPIM, the world’s leading property market, which took place from Tuesday, 14 March, to Friday, 17 March, in Cannes (France).

  • OFFICE KGDVS fills the auditorium for the first conference in...

    On Thursday, 26 January, the ‘Europa Europa’ cycle kicked off, curated by the architect and publisher Moisés Puente. Every 15 days until the month of June, a showing of European architecture will be presented, with lectures from 5 guest architects and 4 critics, and introduced by Catalan architects.

  • Renovations have begun on the Plaça Nova headquarters

    The renovations of the facade on the Architects’ Association headquarters in Plaça Nova have begun. Given the significant heritage value of the Association’s headquarters, the intervention is very conscientious, substantially improving the building’s characteristics.
