    The COAC has awarded the 2015 Cooperation Grants for local and international development projects related to architecture and urbanism.The Jury has assessed the eight proposals that were submitted, considering the architecture, the use of local materials, social participation, and.compliance criteria.Thus, grants were awarded to the following projects:

  • The European Award for Architectural Heritage Intervention has...

    On June 12th, the jury announced the winners of the 2nd AADIPA European Award for Architectural Heritage Intervention. During the award ceremony, which took place at the COAC Auditorium, the names of the 14 finalists and 5 winners were announced.

  • Norwegian artist Carl Nesjar passes away

    Painter, sculptor and photographer Carl Nesjar passed away on May 23rd at the age of 94. COAC had a special relation to Nesjar, who was recognized as one of the most important contemporary artists of Norway. He carried out the sgraffiti of the COAC headquarters' facade in Barcelona, based on Picasso's drawings made specifically for our building.

  • Quaderns: more issues available online

    As of now, issues 261 (2011) to 264 (2012) of 'Quaderns d’arquitectura i urbanisme' are available online.This new addition of journal issues is added to the digitization carried out by the COAC Library in previous years. Currently, full texts of all issues from 1 (1944) up to 264 (2012) of the journal are available on our website.

  • St George's Day at COAC

    On April 23, like every year, the COAC will be celebrating St George's Day with a special programme of activities.At the headquarters in Barcelona, bookstalls ​​shall be installed from early morning by Cooperativa Jordi Capell and AJAC Association, with special offers and discounts. As is tradition, the Cooperativa has invited all the architects who have recently published a book to sign copies between 12 and 2 pm.

  • Architect Carme Pinós is awarded Creu de Sant Jordi 2015

    Architect and urban planner Carme Pinós has been awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi 2015, granted by the Generalitat de Catalunya in recognition of her work.The award, one of the highest distinctions given by the Catalan government,  was given on April 14, 2015, to twenty-seven individuals and fourteen organizations.

  • Collaboration agreement between COAC and Bentley

    COAC has signed an agreement with the American company Bentley, whereby COAC becomes an official Bentley Select centre for training in AECOsim, Bentley's BIM software.

  • The COAC Historical Archive contributes to the 'Flashback...

    The new exhibition "Flashback" opens in La Pedrera on March the 11th. "Flashback", which is a retrospective of the work of publicist, photographer, poet and gourmet Leopoldo Pomés, will be open until July the 12th.
