COAC Grants for Local and International Cooperation 2015
With the aim of enhancing the social commitment of architecture, COAC announces the 4th edition of the COAC grants for local and international development projects related to architecture and urban planning. These awards reflect the COAC's commitment to devote 0.7% of its yearly budget to cooperation.
Associations, charities, foundations and other nonprofit organizations working in the field of development cooperation and having architects among their collaborators are eligible for the COAC grants.
This call includes two main areas of funding: international development cooperation and local development cooperation.
There are five types of grants in both areas:
a) Construction or restoration of housing buildings
b) Construction or restoration of community facilities
c) Construction or restoration of infrastructures
d) Construction or restoration of public spaces
e) Urban planning
The applicant, who must be a COAC member, should fill the application form and submit it, together with the required documents, before April 17th, 2015 at 1pm.
All the applications will be evaluated by the COAC Board, which will announce the results by June 2015.

The COAC Historical Archive contributes to the 'Flashback' exhibition
The new exhibition "Flashback" opens in La Pedrera on March the 11th. "Flashback", which is a retrospective of the work of publicist, photographer, poet and gourmet Leopoldo Pomés, will be open until July the 12th.
The exhibition features over a hundred works including photographs, videos, newspaper clippings, drawings, etc. These works frame an overview of Leopoldo Pomés' career, from his beginnings as an amateur photographer, through the creation of Studi Pomés in 1961, up until his most recent projects.
The COAC Historical Archive has contributed to this exhibition by lending two drawings by architects Correa-Milà on the design of 'Il Giardinetto', as well as a drawing and a photograph of restaurant 'Flash-Flash', by the same architects.

Nova catalogació a la base de dades "Arxitectura": Salvador Soteras Taberner
L'Arxiu Històric del COAC ha realitzat la descripció del fons documental de l’arquitecte Salvador Soteras Taberner (1874-1925), donat al Col·legi d'Arquitectes per l'exdegà del COAC Joan Baptista Mur Soteras.
Concretament, s’han incorporat a la base de dades “Arxitectura" un total de 77 registres de documentació que van del 1891 fins el 1921. Properament, es publicarà a la llista de fons professionals del web de l'Arxiu Històric.
L'obra de Soteras Taberner
Salvador Soteras Taberner va néixer a Madrid l’any 1874. Va desenvolupar una extensa carrera com a arquitecte des que va obtenir el títol el 1899 a l'Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura de Barcelona.
De la seva producció professional cal destacar, entre d’altres, el desaparegut edifici del Círculo Ecuestre, que estava situat al Passeig de Gràcia de Barcelona, o el pont de Mora sobre l’Ebre. L’arquitecte va morir a Barcelona l’any 1925.
Inicio del Postgrado en Certificación Energética y Calidad Ambiental
Ya te puedes matricular en el Postgrado en Certificación Energética, un nuevo programa dirigido a los arquitectos que quieran especializarse en sistemas de evaluación energética y ambiental de la edificación, así como en el diseño y valoración de opciones de mejora del proyecto y en el conocimiento de los sistemas normativos y voluntarios existentes. Se trata de un perfil comparable al de un especialista de estructuras, de instalaciones u otras especialidades.
Los dos primeros módulos del Postgrado se realizan en metodología on line para Videoaula y ya están disponibles en el Campus Virtual de la Escuela Sert:
