Conference | Creating communities and changing mindsets of Josep Maria Borrell, director of IMPSOL
Within the cultural programming of the Tarragona Demarcation of the College of Architects of Catalonia (COAC) we have the opportunity to listen to the conference “Creating communities and changing mentalities” offered by Josep Maria Borrell, director of IMPSOL, a public company dependent on the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB), which promotes inclusive and quality public housing, newly built or from rehabilitations, with a gender perspective, innovation and comprehensive sustainability (social, environmental and economic).
IMPSOL has promoted the competitions, promotion and subsequent management of more than 3,700 homes in 70 developments throughout the ÀMB. During these years, the actions promoted by IMPSOL have obtained recognition for their developments, highlighting some FAD awards for architecture and opinion (2020-2021-2023), CSCAE awards for Spanish architecture (2022-2024), Beau, biau, finalist for the Mies van der Rohe Award (2021) or winners of the RIBA International Awards for Excellence in 2024.
The presentation aims to explain the methodology applied by IMPSOL to obtain quality standards and raise awareness of the values of economic, social and environmental sustainability among users through recent projects and promotions.
Josep Maria Borrell graduated in Architecture from ETSAB (2001). His final project obtained an honors qualification. He has given multiple presentations at specialized conferences, master’s degrees, university postgraduate courses, national and international housing seminars and congresses.

Dins de la programació cultural de la Demarcació de Tarragona del Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya (COAC) tenim l’oportunitat d’escoltar la conferència “Creant comunitats i canviant mentalitats” que ofereix Josep Maria Borrell, director de l’IMPSOL, una empresa pública depenent de l’Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona (AMB), que promou habitatge públic inclusiu i de qualitat, de nova construcció o provinent de rehabilitacions, amb perspectiva de gènere innovació i sostenibilitat integrals (social, ambiental i econòmica).
IMPSOL ha impulsat els concursos, la promoció i gestió posterior de mes de 3.700 habitatges en 70 promocions arreu de l’ÀMB. Durant aquests anys, les actuacions promogudes per l’IMPSOL han obtingut reconeixements pels seus desenvolupaments, destacant alguns premis FAD d’arquitectura i opinió (2020-2021-2023), premis CSCAE d’arquitectura espanyola (2022-2024), Beau, biau, finalista del Premi Mies van der Rohe (2021) o guanyadors del Premi RIBA International Awards for Excellence l’any 2024.
La ponència pretén explicar la metodologia que aplica l’IMPSOL per a l’obtenció dels estàndards de qualitat i la conscienciació dels valors de sostenibilitat econòmica, social i ambiental a les persones usuàries a través dels projectes i promocions recents.
Josep Maria Borrell va graduar-se en Arquitectura a l’ETSAB (2001). El seu projecte final va obtenir una qualificació d’honor. Ha realitzat múltiples ponències tant en jornades especialitzades, màsters, postgraus universitaris o seminaris i congressos d’habitatge nacionals i internacionals.

Conferencia "Habitabilidades" de DATAAE
Dentro de la programación cultural de la Demarcación de Tarragona del Colegio de Arquitectos de Cataluña (COAC) tenemos la oportunidad de escuchar la conferencia "Habitabilidades" de Claudi Aguiló del estudio de arquitectura DATAAE.
Claudi Aguiló es arquitecto por la ETSAV, y desde el 2000 se cofundador del estudio de arquitectura DATAAE. Su trabajo ha sido galardonado con varios premios nacionales e internacionales, entre otros: el World Architecture Award WATA 2024, el premio FAD 2017 (“Ciudad y Paisaje”), el FAD de la Opinión al 2015 y al 2007, Premios Cataluña Construcción 2015, Premio Ugo Rivolta 2015 (Italia), Premio ex-aequo Archmarathon Awards 2014 (Italia), Premios AJAC 2012, Premio Sacyr a la Innovación 2012, Premio ‘SaieAward 2011 the best concreto building’ (Italia), selección ‘Green Building Challenge 2011’, selección JAE (Jóvenes Arquitectos Españoles) 2008.

Conference "Habitabilities" DATAAE
Within the cultural programming of the Tarragona Demarcation of the College of Architects of Catalonia (COAC) we have the opportunity to listen to the conference "Habitabilitats" by Claudi Aguiló from the architecture studio DATAAE.
Claudi Aguiló is an architect from the ETSAV, and since 2000 he has been co-founder of the DATAAE architecture studio. His work has been awarded several national and international prizes, among others: the World Architecture Award WATA 2024, the FAD Award 2017 (“City and Landscape”), the FAD de l’Opinió in 2015 and 2007, Catalunya Construcció Awards 2015, Ugo Rivolta Award 2015 (Italy), Archmarathon Awards ex-aequo Award 2014 (Italy), AJAC Awards 2012, Sacyr Innovation Award 2012, ‘SaieAward 2011 the best concrete building’ Award (Italy), ‘Green Building Challenge 2011’ selection, JAE (Young Spanish Architects) selection 2008.
