Conference | Housing in Catalonia. Plan 50,000 in the Lands of Tarragona
Our society must urgently and energetically address the problem of lack of housing. This entails having to act simultaneously on several fronts, aligning the efforts of institutional, social, professional and business sectors to achieve shared objectives.
One of these objectives is to promote the construction of new housing, taking advantage of all the instruments at our disposal.
The Government has set these objectives as promoting the construction of 50,000 officially protected housing units for rent (Plan 50K) and mobilizing land to promote the construction of 200,000 more homes in 5 years.
To achieve these objectives, an Interdepartmental Commission has been created, assisted by a Working Group that evaluates the progress of the initiative every 15 days.
The scheduled session will allow for information and debate on the proposal and its implementation in the Camp de Tarragona.

Conferència | L’habitatge a Catalunya. Pla 50.000 a les Terres de Tarragona
La nostra societat ha de fer front de manera urgent i enèrgica al problema de falta d’habitatge. Això comporta haver d’actuar de manera simultània en diversos fronts alineant els esforços de sectors institucionals, socials, professionals i empresarials per assolir objectius compartits.
Un d’aquests objectius és impulsar la construcció de nou habitatge, aprofitant tots els instruments al nostre abast.
El Govern ha situat aquests objectius en impulsar la construcció de 50.000 habitatges de protecció oficial en règim de lloguer (Pla 50K) i mobilitzar sòl per promoure la construcció de 200.000 habitatges més en 5 anys.
Per assolir aquests objectius s’ha creat una Comissió Interdepartamental, assistida per un Grup de Treball que cada 15 dies valora l’avenç de la iniciativa.
La sessió prevista permetrà informar i debatre la proposta i la seva plasmació en el Camp de Tarragona.

Barozzi Veiga, protagonistes de la conferència "Margarita Brender"
Barozzi Veiga és un estudi d'arquitectura fundat a Barcelona l’any 2004, reconegut internacionalment pels seus projectes culturals, cívics i educatius. El seu treball es caracteritza per propostes arrelades al lloc, amb una forta càrrega emocional i una arquitectura clara i expressiva. Han realitzat obres destacades com la Filharmònica de Szczecin, el Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lausana o el museu Abby Kortrijk, i desenvolupen projectes a Europa, Àsia i els Estats Units, incloent-hi el nou pla mestre de l’Art Institute of Chicago.
Han rebut nombrosos premis, com el Mies van der Rohe (2015), el RIBA Award (2018) i el Premi Presidente della Repubblica (2023). La seva obra ha estat exposada arreu del món i forma part de la col·lecció permanent del Centre Pompidou. Publicacions i exposicions com On Continuity i A Sentimental Monumentality reflecteixen la profunditat conceptual del seu enfocament arquitectònic.

Conferència Margarita BrenderEl Centre Obert d'Arquitectura va estrenar el passat mes d’abril la 'conferència Margarita Brender', amb la voluntat de donar a conèixer i posar en valor l’obra i la trajectòria d’arquitectes locals reconeguts a nivell català i internacional.
La iniciativa porta el nom de de Margarita Brender, la primera dona arquitecta col·legiada l’any 1962 al COAC. Nascuda a Romania, on va realitzar els estudis d'arquitectura, va emigrar a Catalunya on es va col·legiar i va iniciar la seva trajectòria professional de forma individual i en col·laboració amb F. J. Barba Corsini i J.A. Padrós Galera, entres altres.
La ‘Conferència Margarita Brender' vol ser el reconeixement als despatxos d’arquitectura convidats, els quals mostraran la seva obra i també la seva mirada de l’estat actual de l’arquitectura, l’urbanisme i el paisatge.

Opening of the exhibition "Gaudí's Invisible Garden"
The modernist gardens of the former Sant Boi de Llobregat asylum, built between 1903 and 1912, and forgotten for more than 100 years by historiography, contain architecture that anticipates or is contemporary with Gaudí’s last great works, thus formalizing the hyperbolic structures of the Sagrada Família (1915-1921), the serpentine bench of Park Güell (1910-1914), formal aspects of Casa Milà (1906-1912) and architectural compositions of the Güell colony (1908-1914) and Casa Batlló (1904-1906).
This construction, which had no determined authorship for more than a century, was built with the participation, as laborers, of the patients of the hospital center. This garden, full of symbolism from the text of the Apocalypse of Saint John, and dedicated to the Virgin of Lourdes, is in tune with the architectural and spiritual universe of Antoni Gaudí. The thought of Jacint Verdaguer, personally and ideologically linked to Gaudí, is also present in this enigmatic space.
The exhibition “Gaudí’s Invisible Garden” can be seen from September 29 to November 7, 2025, in the exhibition hall of the COAC Tarragona, and has been curated by the architect David Agulló Galilea. He is the author of the doctoral thesis, directed by the architect Juan José Lahuerta, “Gaudí and the Gardens of the Old Asylum of Sant Boi de Llobregat”, where he argues and makes it clear that this modernist garden is an unpublished work by the brilliant architect Antoni Gaudí.
David Agulló Galilea, PhD in architecture from ETSAB. Author of the doctoral thesis “Gaudí and the gardens of the old asylum of Sant Boi de Llobregat”, qualified with a Cum Laude. Works in the field of rehabilitation, housing, and museography collaborating for the company Quod i Enginyeria Cultural in the following projects: Museum of the History of Catalonia, House of the History of the Archaeological Park of Elviña, and the Center for Interpretation of Al-Andalus, in San Fernando. Currently directing, together with Josep Pratdesaba, Vicenç Font and Anicet Matamala, the restoration of the modernist complex of the old psychiatric hospital of Sant Boi de Llobregat.
The exhibition “The Invisible Garden of Gaudí” was shown during the period June 2024-June 2025 at the MNACTEC museum in Terrassa.
