Síntesis Arquitectòniques "El pilar en Mies van der Rohe. El lèxic de l’acer”
Enguany les tesis doctorals que es presenten estan dedicades a tres grans figures de l’arquitectura; Mies van der Rohe, Kazuo Shinohara i J.A. Coderch.
La primera de les presentacions, a la sala Rafael Masó de la Demarcació de Girona, anirà a càrrec d’Eva Jiménez, guardonada amb el Premi Extraordinari de Doctorat de la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya 2014, amb la tesi “El pilar en Mies van der Rohe. El lèxic de l’acer”, on aporta una nova interpretació, tant tecnològica com contextualitzada, sobre l’arquitectura de Mies van der Rohe. Una de les innovacions més significatives d’aquesta tesi és el descobriment de les transferències tecnològiques entre Mies i altres arquitectes com Peter Behrens, Albert Kahn i Konrad Wachsmann en l’àmbit de les estructures metàl·liques així com el canvi substancial en l’obra de Mies que suposa cadascuna d’elles.
La segona presentació es farà a Olot el 5 de juliol i anirà a càrrec d’Enric Massip-Bosch, doctor arquitecte per Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya el 2016, amb la tesi "Five forms of emotion: Kazuo Shinohara and the house as a work of art”. Tancarà el cicle la presentació de Joan Alfós, doctor arquitecte per la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya el 2016, amb la tesi “L’Hotel de mar de J. A. Coderch”, el 13 de juliol, a la Delegació de l’Alt Empordà.
Totes les presentacions tindran lloc a les 19 hores.
The Architectural Awards of the Counties of Girona distinguish 15 projects
Following the presentations, the member for Culture of the Girona branch of the COAC, Sílvia Musquera, revealed the 14 projects selected from among the 33 works submitted for recognition by the jury, whose members this year were:
Thus the prizes in the category of Architecture + Interior Spaces went to: La casa dels tres murs in Olot, by XAA Arquitectura – Xevi Bayona / Alba Colomer / Adrià Villarejo, for la Casa Retina a Santa Pau, by Arnau Vergés; and to Centre d’art i hotel al Castell de Sant Julià de Ramis, by Fuses Viader Arquitectes.
In this category, the jury also singled out the following works for a special mention: El molí vell in Sant Privat d’en Bas, by XAA Arquitectura - Xevi Bayona / Alba Colomer / Adrià Villarejo, and Casa 09 in Girona, by Josep Camps and Olga Felip. And the projects Pedra a Santa Cristina d’Aro, by Victòria Barber and Frans Masana, and Àgora a Olot, by Eduard Callís and Guillem Moliner, were also recognized with a mention.
In the category of Landscapes, the jury distinguished: Nova plaça del Pallol in Girona, by Manel Bosch and Montserrat Nogués. And also decided to give a special mention to the following two projects: Intervenció al fort de Sant Francesc a Volcà Montsacopa, by Mireia Torras and Pere Llimargas, and the project Entre camps de pomeres a Castelló d’Empúries, by Clara Crous and Juli Sanjuan.
The winners of the Temporary Architecture 2018 Award were: Codi Petri a Girona, by Víctor Almazán, Cristina Masferrer and Gustavo Torres. Again, the jury decided to give a special mention to the following three projects: Casa a Girona by M. Clara Riera, Maria Bosch and Denis Bilos, Dreyer in Bloom a Girona by Adrià Masó, Iker Pastor, Maria Duran, Paula Alejandro, Ewelina Rachwal, Víctor Pastor, Núria Vila, Raquel Puig and MilosPopovic; and Sol Sistere a Olot by Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny d’Olot.
The Opinion 2018 Award, which is decided by the general public, who vote for all the projects presented, was won by Casa de la Brisa in Llafranc, by Alexandra Vilà and Andrea Marc Buchmeier.
Assumpció Puig, the first female dean in COAC history
Assumpció Puig's candidacy also includes Pere Castelltort, who will take on the position of Secretary; Ione Ruete, who will act as Treasurer; and Josep Ferrando, Guillem Costa and Duna Bellmun, as board members. Assumpció Puig takes the reins from Lluís Comeron who, after eight years of heading the institution, took over last January as president of the Higher Council of Architects’ Associations of Spain (CSCAE).
With regard to the Barcelona branch, Sandra Bestraten came out on top with 848 votes, while Pilar Calderón obtained 473 and Núria Llaverías 262, with 141 ballots left blank. This is also the first time a woman has headed up the Governing Board of the Barcelona branch of the Association.
The other branches were declared as elected on 18 April, as there were no opponents.
Participation
A total of 2,453 architects took part in these elections, 24.06% of the 10,190 architects registered.
This figure is a significant increase in participation compared to previous elections, partly due to the fact that during the interim period the number of members has risen by almost 800.
Regional offices
The candidacies for the regional offices of Comarques Centrals, Ebre, Girona, Lleida and Tarragona were proclaimed as elected on 18 April. Consequently, Miquel Sitjà is the new president of the Comarques Centrals office; Joan-Manuel Margalef of the Ebre office; Marc Riera of the Girona office; Víctor Pérez-Pallarès of the Lleida office; and finally Joan Tous of the Tarragona office.
In relation to regional offices, the following were also proclaimed as elected on 18 April: Miquel Turné (representative of the Vallès office), Maria Mercè Oriol (Alt Empordà), Neus Roca (Garrotxa-Ripollès) and Ricard Lobo (Pirineu).
Publication of the results and start of the mandate
The results were published on the election website on 11 May. You can view the winning candidates and the list of elected representatives on the site.
The 2018-2022 mandate will start on 11 June 2018 after the new officers have formally accepted their positions.
Curso Soluciones energéticas óptimas para la vivienda sostenible en Girona
La Escuela Sert de la Demarcación de Girona del COAC ha programado un nuevo curso dedicado a las Soluciones energéticas óptimas para la vivienda sostenible, que tendrá lugar los días 18 y 19 de octubre.
El curso tiene como objetivo dotar los profesionales arquitectos de herramientas técnicas y metodológicas para la implementación de soluciones de optimización energética en proyectos de viviendas unifamiliares o promociones de viviendas múltiples, tanto en el ámbito particular como en el comercial. Con dos sesiones de cuatro horas, el curso comprende los aspectos de envoltorio, carpintería, climatización y hermeticitat.
El contenido del curso permitirá a los profesionales arquitectos adaptar sus criterios de acuerdo con los estándares de edificios de consumo de energía casi nulo a los cuales se refiere la Directiva 2010/31 de la Unión Europea, la cual establece en su artículo 9 que, a partir del 31 de diciembre del 2020, afectando a todos los edificios nuevos.
