The COAC’s Historical Archive loans photos by Català-Roca for an exhibition on Miró in Paris

The Grand Palais in Paris is holding the biggest retrospective on the Catalan artist Joan Miró since 1974, entitled simply 'Miró'. In addition to the 150 paintings sourced from all over the world that chart the painter’s evolution—from Cubism to Surrealism—there will be a number of photographs featuring Miró taken by his unconditional friend, the photographer Francesc Català-Roca.

The stairway to the Saxhóll crater wins the Rosa Barba International Landscape Award

The intervention, which was built at the Saxhóll volcano (Iceland) to address the impact of the visitors who climb the crater every day, was undertaken by the Landslag ehf architectural practice and architect Þráinn Hauksson and has won the 10th Rosa Barba International Landscape Award. The jury also gave a special mention to the Linear Park project for the Cuernavaca railway. The award was presented on Friday, 28 September, at a ceremony held in the small palace of the Palau de la Música.

Eight original documents on Gaudí’s work exhibited at the Het Schip Museum in Amsterdam

The COAC’s Historical Archive has loaned eight original documents on Gaudí’s work to the Het Schip Museum in Amsterdam for an exhibition entitled ‘Gaudí and the Amsterdam School’, which opened on 2 October.

The Architects’ Association of Catalonia is supporting the campaign #Paralosvalientes, promoted by Hospital Sant Joan de Deu, which calls upon any architects who wish to make an anonymous donation to support the construction of SJD Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona.

New edition of the survey on the profession of architect

Two years on from the first survey entitled ‘Architects. Situation, opportunities and prospects’ produced by the Architects’ Association of Catalonia, we are now embarking on the second edition in conjunction with the CSCAE.

In 2016, with the aim of getting a detailed overview of the professional situation of architects in Catalonia and the way this had changed over the preceding years, the COAC produced and presented a report on the profession of architect based on a survey in which more than 1,700 architects in Catalonia participated.

El Archivo Histórico del COAC cede imágenes de Català-Roca para una exposición sobre Miró en París

El Grand Palais de París ofrece, a partir del 3 de octubre, la mayor retrospectiva del artista catalán Joan Miró que se ha hecho desde 1974, bajo el título ‘Miró’. A los 150 cuadros venidos desde todo el mundo que describen la evolución de la obra del pintor —desde el cubismo hasta el surrealismo— hace falta sumarle imagénes con Miró de protagonista y hechas desde la cámara de quien fue su amigo incondicional, Francesc Catalá-Roca.

El Ayuntamiento de Sant Cugat incluirá el IIT dentro del trámite de licencia urbanística

El Pleno del Ayuntamiento de Sant Cugat del Vallès ha aprobado recientemente una modificación de la Ordenanza Municipal* que introduce el Informe de Idoneidad Técnica (IIT) dentro del trámite de las licencias urbanísticas. Con su implantación, prevista para el 2019, Sant Cugat será el primer municipio que sigue los pasos del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona, que estableció los IITs hace ya siete años.
