Presentación del proyecto "Aftermath_Architecture beyond architects" en el COAC
El pasado 9 de mayo se presentó en la Sala de Actos del COAC el proyecto "Aftermath_Architecture beyond architects", que representará a Catalunya en la 15ª Bienal de Arquitectura de Venecia, dentro de los Eventi Collaterali.
En la presentación se contó con la presencia de los tres comisarios del proyecto, los arquitectos Jaume Prat y Jelena Prokopljević y el cineasta Isaki Lacuesta; así como del decano del COAC, Lluís Comerón; el director del Institut Ramon Llull, Manuel Forcano; y los siete equipos de arquitectos cuya obra será expuesta en la muestra.
Mediante instalaciones audiovisuales, Aftermath presenta 7 intervenciones arquitectónicas públicas, escogidas por la forma en que mejoran las relaciones entre obra, usuario y entorno urbano, social y natural.
"La última palabra sobre la calidad de la obra arquitectónica la tiene el usuario", explicó Jelena Prokopljević. Éste es el punto de partida de este montaje sobre “arquitectura más allá de los arquitectos”. Las fotos de obras arquitectónicas suelen hacerse cuando el edificio se entrega al cliente, nuevo, impoluto, sin gente. En Aftermath se pretende, por el contrario, exhibir la obra ya en funcionamiento, desde el punto de vista de los usuarios, y en su día a día.
“Queremos que la visita sea una experiencia sensorial”, subraya Prat. El espacio, oscurecido, estará ocupado por diversos vidrios, algunos de ellos curvados, sobre los cuales se verán una serie de proyecciones creadas por Lacuesta. “El punto de vista es siempre el de la gente”, reitera el cineasta. El trabajo, de corte documental, sigue a los usuarios sin interferirles, y son sus movimientos cuotidianos los que describen su compenetración con la arquitectura.
Para más información sobre los proyectos seleccionados, el visitante podrá recorrer a la web de Aftermath, donde encontrará plantas, alzados, dibujos, fotos y entrevistas a los autores. También estará disponible el catálogo del proyecto, que incluirá toda esta información.
Los edificios que se mostrarán son el Hospital Transfronterizo de La Cerdaña, de Brullet-Pineda Arquitectes; el Centro de Reparto de Alimentos de Campclar, de NUA Arquitectures (Maria Rius, Ferran Tiñena y Arnau Tiñena); la Rehabilitación medioambiental de los márgenes del Llobregat, de Batlle i Roig; el Teatro Atlántida de Vic, de Josep Llinàs, Josep Llobet, Pedro Ayesta y Laia Vives; la Torre Julia, de Sergi Pons, Pau Vidal y Ricard Galiana; el aparcamiento de Saint Roch en Montpeller, de Archikubik (Miquel Lacasta, Marc Chalamanch y Carmen Santana); y Can Batlló, del Colectivo Can Batlló y la Cooperativa LaCol.
La Bienal de Venecia se inaugura el próximo 26 de mayo y se podrá visitar hasta el 27 de noviembre de 2016. La exposición catalana se podrá ver en los Cantieri Navali (Quintavalle, Castello 40, Venecia).

Presentation of the project to represent Catalonia at the Venice Biennale

On Monday, 9 May, at 7 pm in the Auditorium of the COAC there will be a presentation of the project ’Aftermath_Architecture beyond architects’, which will represent Catalonia at this year's La Biennale di Venezia.
The event will be attended by the Dean of the COAC, Lluís Comerón; the Director of the Ramon Llull Institute, Manuel Forcano; the three curators of the project, architects Jaume Prat and Jelena Prokopljević and filmmaker Isaki Lacuesta; and the seven teams of architects whose work will be exhibited at the show.
Aftermath_Architecture beyond architects
Using audiovisual installations, the project highlights various public architectural interventions, selected as examples of the type of architecture that enhances users’ relationship with the urban, social and natural landscape.
The buildings to be featured are the La Cerdanya Cross-border Hospital, by Brullet-Pineda Arquitectes; the Campclar Food Distribution Centre, by NUA Arquitectures (Maria Rius, Ferran Tiñena and Arnau Tiñena); the environmental recovery of the banks of the Llobregat River, by Batlle i Roig Arquitectes; the Atlàntida Theatre of Vic, by Josep Llinàs, Josep Llobet, Pedro Ayesta and Laia Vives; the Júlia Tower, by Sergi Pons, Pau Vidal and Ricard Galiana; the Saint Roch car park in Montpellier by Archikubik (Miquel Lacasta, Marc Chalamanch and Carmen Santana); and Can Batlló, by the Can Batlló Collective and the LaCol Cooperative.
Catalonia's participation in the Venice Biennale, which opens on 26 May and can be visited until 27 November, is being promoted by the Ramon Llull Institute with support from the Catalan Government's Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Territory and Sustainability. This year's edition, curated by Alejandro Aravena, is entitled ‘Reporting from the Front’.

The COAC exhibits the selected projects for the new Camp Nou and Palau Blaugrana

From Wednesday 11 May you can visit the exhibition of the entries for the tender for the new Camp Nou and new Palau Blaugrana, which will be at the Architects’ Association of Catalonia until Thursday 2 June.
The aim of the exhibition, organized jointly with FC Barcelona, is to reveal the projects of all the finalists. Therefore the exhibition is set up over three spaces:
At the arquitectes.cat space in Plaça Nova you can see the work of the winning teams, Pascual-Ausió Arquitectes + Nikken Sekkei and TAC Arquitectes + HOK, with their respective models. The other finalists' projects will have their own space in the Mezzanine with their models and images on display. For those seeking more in-depth knowledge of the work of these teams, the Picasso Room will display more details of the approach to the projects with plans, documents, images, etc.
The exhibition opens on Tuesday, 10 May, at 7 pm in the presence of the Dean of the COAC, Lluís Comerón; the President of Barcelona FC, Josep Maria Bartomeu; and the architectural teams of the finalists.
Running parallel to the exhibition, a series of seminars are scheduled for the Auditorium of the COAC at which the teams of finalists will explain the projects presented in more detail.
