Recordando José Antonio Coderch
Continuando con la serie de actos que se desarrollarán en el Colegio para recordar y reconocer los cuatro arquitectos de los que se cumple el centenario de su nacimiento este año: Coderch, Pratmarsó, Bonet Castellana y Moragas, el correspondiente a José Antonio Coderch contará con la participación de los arquitectos Gerardo García-Ventosa y Antoni Companys y el decano del COAC, Lluís Comerón.

Continuant amb el seguit d'actes que es desenvoluparan al Col·legi per recordar i reconèixer els quatre arquitectes dels qual s'acompleix el centenari del seu naixement aquest any: Coderch, Pratmarsó, Bonet Castellana i Moragas, el corresponent a José Antonio Coderch comptarà amb la participació dels arquitectes Gerardo García-Ventosa i Antoni Companys i el degà del COAC, Lluís Comerón.

El jurat va subratllar el criteri director de tota la intervenció, que ha sabut preservar i posar en valor un gran conjunt fabril barcelonès. Destaca l"aparent simplicitat per compartimentar nous espais dins de les naus de l’antiga fàbrica, possible gràcies a una profunda anàlisi de la geometria i l’estructura original.
D’altra banda, el jurat també indica que "l’austeritat i la simplificació en l’ús dels materials en la rehabilitació és una qualitat a destacar per l’equilibri que dóna a tota la intervenció i al claredat de comprensió dels espais".
En aquesta mateixa categoria, el jurat va decidir atorgar un accèssit a l’adequació i ampliació de l'Escola Oficial d’idiomes de Tarragona al recinte de la fàbrica Chartreuse, dels arquitectes Víctor Seguí I Marc Seguí Pié.
Els premis Bonaplata, que han arribat a la seva 21a edició, són atorgats anualment per l'Associació del Museu de la Ciència i la Tècnica i d'Arqueologia Industrial de Catalunya per reconèixer persones i institucions que hagin dut a terme accions per valorar el patrimoni industrial mitjançant l’estudi, la rehabilitació, la difusió o reivindicació d'un territori, un lloc, una instal·lació industrial, tècnica o científica, de béns mobles o de documentacions industrials, tècniques o científiques.

Catalan Book Week at the COAC
Today, Friday 5 September, marks the opening of the thirty-first edition of Catalan Book Week on the avenue in front of the Cathedral of Barcelona. Up until Sunday 15 September, a total of 75 exhibitors will be gathering to form part of a programme that includes almost 250 activities, some of which are taking place in Plaça Nova and at the COAC headquarters, where the mezzanine level has been set up as the ‘Agora Venue’.
On Monday 9 September, at 6 pm, this venue will be hosting a talk on 100 years of the architects Bonet, Coderch, Moragas and Pratmarsó, organized by the COAC and the Jordi Capell Cooperative with the participation of Joan Roig, Josep M. Montaner, Josep M. Rovira and Pilar de la Villa.
On Friday 15 September, at 6.45 pm, the presentation of Revistes d’Arquitectura will take place in the ‘Plaça de la Paraula’ with the participation of architects and members of the editorial teams of the publications Aproximacions, Diagonal and Quaderns.
During the course of the week, the mezzanine in the Plaça Nova building will also be hosting the exhibition ‘Traços d’Història’ [Traces of History], a journey through the works of Oriol Garcia Quera, a draughtsman who has recorded different stages in the history of Catalonia in his comics. His work covers episodes ranging from the first monarch, Wilfred the Hairy, and the origin of the Catalan nation, through to the disastrous defeat of 1714. His albums are a blend of historical rigour and fiction.
The Catalan Book Week is offering a discount of 5% on the purchase of books from any of the exhibition stands to all members of the COAC.
