Almost 3,000 people attend the Architecture Festival at Tibidabo

Between 6 pm and midnight on 11 May, almost 3,000 people went up to Tibidabo to experience the Architecture Festival organised by COAC. Visitors had the chance to enjoy the magic of this iconic location, with its panoramic views of Barcelona, while enjoying the various attractions.
During the afternoon, those who had registered in advanced participated on the ‘El Tibidabo’ and ‘An exceptional view of Barcelona’ routes, which offered an architectural perspective of the funfair and the city’s urban development respectively. In the evening there was a concert by jazz group Virginia and the Woolfs and a lindy hop show.

The Architecture Festival could be experienced on social media as well as in person thanks to the competition Picture your #FestArquitectura, which invited visitors to post an image of the festival on Instagram with the hashtag #FestArquitectura.

Marta has earned herself a night at the Hotel Mil Estrelles in Cornellà de Terri, including dinner and breakfast. Posgrado en Rehabilitación. 12ª edición
El próximo 9 de noviembre comenzará la doceava edición del Posgrado en Rehabilitación de la Escola Sert.
Este programa capacita al arquitecto para llevar a cabo las obras de reforma o rehabilitación de un edificio. Los alumnos aprenderán a detectar y diagnosticar las lesiones de un edificio, conocer las formas de intervención y reparación más habituales en los diferentes sistemas constructivos y a gestionar y controlar el proyecto de rehabilitación.
El Posgrado consta de un total de 158 horas lectivas y se realizará de forma presencial con retransmisión en directo a través de la Videoaula.
El temario se estructura en los siguientes módulos:
- M1. Inspección y diagnosis de edificios
- M2. Rehabilitación de estructuras y cimentaciones
- M3. Rehabilitación de fachadas y cubiertas
- M4. Rehabilitación de instalaciones
- M5. Introducción a la gestión integral en rehabilitación
20% de descuento para matrículas hechas antes del 09/10/2018.

Exhibition: 'COAC.16 Collections / The Universal Exposition of 1888'

From 19 July you can visit the seventh exhibition in the 'Collections' series of COAC’s Historical Archive, which commemorates 130 years since this key event in Barcelona's history and features a large selection of documents.
130 years ago, the city of Barcelona, which had thrown down its walls and expanded across the plain thanks to the adoption of Ildefons Cerdà’s urban plan, was ready to take another step forward with the organisation of the Universal Exposition of 1888.
Through the Exposition, Barcelona showcased its dynamism, the drive of its middle classes, supported by a powerful industrial sector, and the ability to generate forward-looking projects for large tracts of society at that time.
In the sphere of architecture, it is worth highlighting the generalised use of iron—which previously had been used in the construction of bridges, railway stations and markets—and the as-yet early emergence of the Catalan Art Nouveau style (classified as proto-Modernisme) that could be perceived in some buildings.
The Universal Exposition of 1888 was the first project to generate changes at many levels of the city, and was followed by similar impacts from the International Exposition of 1929 and the organisation of the Olympic Games in 1992.
The plans on display are from the collection of Elias Rogent Amat, the architect who directed work at the Universal Exposition, and were donated by his family to the COAC’s Historical Archive in 1969. The exhibition also features documents from the photography collections of the COAC’s Historical Archive.
To properly conserve the documents, they have been copied and reproduced as facsimiles so that now, 130 years later, they can be viewed without any risk of damage.

Postgrau en Rehabilitació (12a edició)
El proper 9 de novembre s'inicia la dotzena edició del Postgrau en Rehabilitació de l'Escola Sert.
Aquest programa capacita l'arquitecte per dur a terme les obres de reforma o rehabilitació d'un edifici. Els alumnes aprendran a detectar i diagnosticar les lesions d'un edifici, conèixer les formes d'intervenció i reparació més habituals en els diferents sistemes constructius i gestionar i controlar el projecte de rehabilitació.
El Postgrau consta d'un total de 158 hores lectives i es realitzarà de forma presencial amb retransmissió en directe a través de la Videoaula.
