EL FUTURO DE LA VIVIENDA EN EUROPA: DE LA INSPIRACIÓN A LA IMPLEMENTACIÓN
Después de la experiencia de cuatro ediciones, la jornada "Descarbonitzando la Arquitectura 2026" quiere dar un paso más y abordar las barreras normativas, económicas y organizativas que dificultan la transformación del sector de la edificación, así como identificar los instrumentos y mecanismos de gobernanza que permitan hacer posible un parque de viviendas asequible, saludable, resiliente y descarbonizado.
Más allá de presentar proyectos de arquitectura ejemplares, la jornada quiere identificar las condiciones que los hacen posibles: concursos bien planteados, regulaciones facilitadoras, incentivos, nuevos modelos de gestión y buenas prácticas de toda Europa que puedan replicarse.
Bajo el lema "El futuro de la vivienda en Europa: de la inspiració a la implementación", esta quinta edición pone el foco en una cuestión urgente pero llena de oportunidades: cómo afrontar siultáneamente la emergencia climática y la crisis de la vivienda. En este contexto, la descarbonización del parque residencial se presenta como una oportunidad para repensar la vivienda desde una perspectiva integral capaz de reducir la demanda energética, mejorar el confort térmico, garantizar unas condiciones de habitabilidad saludables, reducir la factura energética de los hogares y reforzar la cohesión social de los barrios.
Del diagnóstico a la acción
La jornada reunirá a arquitectos, representantes de la administración pública, responsables políticos y otros agentes implicados para debatir qué herramientas, modelos de gobernanza, mecanismos de financiación y marcos normativos son necesarios para hacer realidad esta transformación. Así, esta nueva edición se plantea como un espacio de reflexión, pero sobre todo de acción. Una oportunidad para compartir experiencias, generar alianzas y contribuir a impulsar soluciones residenciales que combinen calidad arquitectónica, asequibilidad, salud, eficiencia energética y resiliencia climática.

THE FUTURE OF HOUSING IN EUROPE: FROM POLICY TO IMPLEMENTATION
After four editions, the "Decarbonising Architecture 2026" conference aims to take a step further by addressing the regulatory, economic and organisational barriers that hinder the transformation of the building sector, and by identifying the governance tools and mechanisms needed to make an affordable, healthy, resilient and decarbonised housing stock a reality.
Beyond showcasing exemplary architectural projects, the conference seeks to identify the conditions that make them possible: well-designed procurement processes, enabling regulations, incentives, new management models and best practices from across Europe that can be replicated.
Under the theme "The Future of Housing in Europe: From Policy to Implementation", this fifth edition focuses on an urgent issue that is also rich with opportunities: how to address the climate emergency and the housing crisis simultaneously. In this context, decarbonising the residencial building stock is an opportunity to rethink housing from a holistic perspective capable of reducing energy demand, improving thermal comfort, ensuring healthy living conditions, lowering household energy bills and strengthening social cohesion in neighbourhoods.
From diagnosis to action
The conference will bring together architects, public administration representatives, policymakers and other key stakeholders to discuss the tools, governance models, financing mechanisms and regulatory frameworks needed to turn this transformation into reality. More than a forum for reflection, this edition is designed as a platform for action: an opportunity to share experiences, build partnerships and help shape recommendations that support housing solutions combining architectural quality, affordability, health, energy efficiency and climate resilience.
