Abiertas las inscripciones para el Simposio de Suelo No Urbanizable
Durante tres días se pondrá sobre la mesa todo aquello relacionado con el paisaje, las actividades y las construcciones que actualmente se encuentran en suelo no urbanizable. Se quiere crear un espacio de reflexión y debate que permita replantear la situación desde una nueva mirada. Para poder conseguirlo, se ha trabajado en un programa centrado en especialistas en el tema pero, también, en profesionales procedentes del mundo humanista que puedan aportar una visión muy diferente a la que nos encontramos los arquitectos y técnicos en nuestro día a día.
Las jornadas
Por las mañanas, la jornada se abrirá con un profesional que aporte una mirada ajena al tema. Le seguirá una ponencia por parte de un técnico no arquitecto relacionado con el suelo no urbanizable. Y la tercera ponencia la hará un arquitecto especialista en el tema. Al final de la mañana habrá una mesa redonda con los tres ponentes y un moderador, para debatir sobre lo que se ha hablado a lo largo de la mañana.
Las tardes de las dos primeras jornadas tienen un carácter más dinámico, técnico y práctico, donde se contará con arquitectos que expondrán temas más concretos, y también se tratará el suelo no urbanizable a través de proyectos. Finalmente, el último día por la tarde habrá una ponencia referente a la nueva Ley del Territorio y una mesa redonda con invitados de diversos ámbitos.

Es vol crear un espai de reflexió i debat que permeti replantejar la situació des d’una nova mirada. Per tal de poder-ho aconseguir, s’ha treballat en un programa centrat en especialistes en el tema però, també, amb professionals procedents del món humanista que puguin aportar una visió molt diferent a la que ens trobem els arquitectes i tècnics en el nostre dia a dia.
Les jornades
Als matins, la jornada s’obrirà amb un professional que aporti una mirada aliena al tema. El seguirà una ponència per part d’un tècnic no arquitecte relacionat amb el sòl no urbanitzable. I la tercera ponència la farà un arquitecte especialista en el tema. Al final del matí hi haurà una taula rodona amb els tres ponents i un moderador, per tal de debatre sobre el que s’ha parlat al llarg del matí.
Les tardes de les dues primeres jornades tenen un caire més dinàmic, tècnic i pràctic, on es comptarà amb arquitectes que exposaran temes més concrets, i també es tractarà el sòl no urbanitzable a través dels projectes. Finalment, l’últim dia a la tarda hi haurà una ponència referent a la nova Llei del Territori i una taula rodona amb convidats de diversos àmbits.

Award-winning projects at the 19th edition of the Architectural Awards of Girona
The event was attended by Agustí Serra, Director-General for Territorial and Urban Planning of the Government of Catalonia; Narcís Reverendo, President of the Girona branch of the COAC; Marta Madrenas, Mayor of Girona; Fermí Santamaria, Vice-president of Girona Provincial Council; and the architect Claudi Aguiló, representing this year's jury, chaired by the architect Andrew Groarke, who was unable to attend.
The event included the opening of the exhibition which brings together this year's selected projects in a set-up which uses three rolls of fabric deployed using metal carousels spread in rows throughout the entire exhibition room. The architectural projects are found amongst the hanging fabric—sketches, plans, images and notes—presented one behind the other, just like the outlines of the thousand conceivable architectural plans that the architect commits to paper. The exhibition was curated by the Col·lectiu La Mosca, created in 2012 to disseminate art and architecture and bring it closer to society, as well as encouraging architectural sensitivity and promoting social action to improve the quality of people's lives.
Just as in previous editions, the Architectural Awards of the Counties of Girona were made possible thanks to the support and collaboration of a variety of public bodies and private companies. As its main sponsors, this year's edition relied on the support Girona Provincial Council and Technal and Griesser; as sponsors, Ascensors Serra, Arcadi Pla SA, Itisa, El Punt Avui, iGuzzini, Diari de Girona, Cervera Global and the HNA (National Brotherhood of Architects); and as collaborators, Hotel Ciutat de Girona, LB Leopold Bautista SL Bulthaup Girona, Caves Llopart, and La Selva.
AWARD WINNERS 2016
In this, the nineteenth edition, the jury selected a total of 16 projects. The award in the 'Architecture' category went to 'Renovation of farmhouse in El Baix Empordà', by the practice Arquitectura-G (Jonathan Arnabat, Jordi Ayala-Bril, Aitor Fuentes and Igor Urdampilleta), and a mention was given to 'Reception Building at the Empúries Archaeological Museum', a project by Fuses-Viader Arquitectes. In the 'Outdoor Spaces' category, the jury chose the project 'Lluna Plena in Olot', by Eduard Callís and Guillem Moliner. No award was given for the 'Temporary Spaces' category.
As for the Jury Opinion Award, given by professionals from the world of cultural communication and management, architecture critics and professionals linked to the worlds of business and research, it went to 'Reception Building at the Empúries Archaeological Museum', by Fuses-Viader Arquitectes. The intention of this award is to reinforce the perception of architecture as culture and, in turn, influence the idea of architecture as a wide-ranging activity capable of capturing public interest.
ARCHITECTURE AS A CULTURAL ASSET
One of the noteworthy functions of the Architects' Association is to demonstrate the professional task undertaken by architects in disseminating the values of architecture in the context of society, something exemplified in their entirety by the Architectural Awards of the Counties of Girona. They have been held since 1997, and serve as a benchmark for architectural activity in the region. After nineteen years, they are seen as a point of reference for professionals in the worlds of architecture and construction.

Aranzadi Park, by Aldayjover Architecture and Landscape, winner of an AZ Award
The design magazine Azure announced the winners of the AZ Awards 2016 at a ceremony in Toronto on 17 June. Aranzadi Park, designed by the Catalan architecture firm Aldayjover Architecture and Landscape, won the jury award for Best Landscape Architecture.
The park, located in Pamplona, was acclaimed by the jury as a benchmark of a new paradigm in the relation between public spaces and rivers, as well as with the agricultural landscape and traditions that have shaped the land over the centuries. The park’s design works a delicate balance between the century old vegetable gardens, the local people and the new flood overflow areas that offer relief to the river while avoiding damage and generating new wetlands.
Designed by architects Iñaki Alday and Margarita Jover, Aranzadi Park has won numerous international plaudits and was also a finalist in the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam of 2014.
