Competition for the renovation of the COAC facade
Object of the competitionThe object of the competition, presented at the Association headquarters on January 14th, is to select the best tender for the facade renovation, which must follow certain criteria when reinterpreting the look and materials used in the original 1962 project by Xavier Busquets, while simultaneously improving on building performance in terms of environmental and energy efficiency, insulation, noise control and ease of maintenance.

Catalan Book Week at the COAC
Today, Friday 5 September, marks the opening of the thirty-first edition of Catalan Book Week on the avenue in front of the Cathedral of Barcelona. Up until Sunday 15 September, a total of 75 exhibitors will be gathering to form part of a programme that includes almost 250 activities, some of which are taking place in Plaça Nova and at the COAC headquarters, where the mezzanine level has been set up as the ‘Agora Venue’.

BCN Architecture APP
The Barcelona City Council and the Architects’ Association of Catalonia have developed the BCN Arquitectura app, which features a guide to more than 100 iconic buildings in the city, most of which can be found along the most popular tourist routes.
